Health

The LMI countries are committed to transnational health activities towards improving human health and thereby reducing poverty and impediments to economic development. Cross border and migrant issues are a particular concern.  Health activities are to focus in four major areas: communicable and emerging infectious diseases; prevention and control of counterfeit and substandard medications; regional collaboration to support implementation of the International health Regulations; and sharing good practices related to disease management. There is opportunity to involve various alliances and other activities in the Health Pillar.
