Connectivity

The goal of the Connectivity Pillar of LMI is to strengthen capacity within and among the LMI partner countries to support programming under all LMI Pillars and to complement existing regional mechanisms, using information technology, training, and donor coordination as a means to achieve sustainable, transnational infrastructure projects, including a facilitation of cross-border trade and transportation.  Efforts within the Infrastructure Pillar include mobilizing private sector funding through public-private partnerships to provide a market-based approach to infrastructure development; increasing information technology availability and development throughout the sub-region; supporting and promoting social and environmental impact assessments and effective remediation methods related to infrastructure development; and developing better internet connectivity in the region.
